I had the pleasure of attending the Quebec City Mayor’s Cocktail, organized by the Quebec Urban Development Institute (IDU), in the majestic setting of Château Frontenac. A packed room brought together over 200 commercial real estate professionals!
🎤 Highlights from the event:
🔸 Isabelle Melançon, a communicator I greatly admire, shared her inspiring journey. She emphasized the importance of the 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, not only to stimulate urban development but also as a 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Her eagerness to learn from more experienced individuals, starting in her teenage years, is a valuable lesson in curiosity and perseverance.
🔸 Mayor Bruno Marchand also impressed me with the cultural shift he is leading within the beautiful city of Quebec. It was the first time I had the chance to hear him speak. He highlighted how the city’s 7,500 employees have evolved in just a few years from a “divine” stance to a 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 with real estate developers. This transformation, achieved while maintaining exemplary 𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, is remarkable and promising for the region.
💬 Beyond the inspiring speeches, I was delighted to reconnect with Normand Hudon, a companion from the Quebec delegation on a trade mission to China promoting Quebec expertise in Asia, as well as to meet many dynamic stakeholders committed to the ambitious goal of delivering 𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 in the Quebec region.
